Mills Recruitment is partnering with a leading player in Australia's infrastructure landscape, delivering high-impact projects across mines, LNG installations, refineries, power stations, and telecommunications infrastructure. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Environmental Approvals Professional to join their dynamic team based at Perth Airport.
About the Role As the Environmental Approvals Professional, you will play a pivotal role in leading the delivery and implementation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and securing regulatory approvals essential for the development of the Perth Airport Estate, aligned with the Perth Airport Master Plan and corporate objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead scoping, consultation, and preparation of approvals documentation under the Airport Act 1996, EPBC Act 1999, Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, and other relevant legislation.
- Conduct EIAs to determine regulatory needs and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate standards for land use and environmental obligations.
- Manage the delivery of Development Approvals, Planning Assessments, and technical inputs through consultants.
- Engage proactively with key regulators, stakeholders, tenants, and community groups to foster productive relationships.
- Scope, program, and prioritise Major Development Plan (MDP) approvals and technical assessments.
- Contribute to the Perth Airport Master Plan, ecological maintenance programs, and Environmental Management System development.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biological Sciences, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in delivering Commonwealth approvals, environmental impact assessments, management plans, and compliance reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication and reporting skills.
- Solid understanding and application of State and Federal Environmental legislation.
- Experience managing approvals for infrastructure projects, with a good working knowledge of Local and State Government Planning legislation.
- Experience working within an airport environment is desirable
- Understanding of Airports Act 1996 and relevant regulations.
- Strong communicator – able to influence a range of stakeholders on complex environmental and development issues.
