Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal (WICET) is a world class, industry-owned and privately funded terminal located at the Port of Gladstone. This modern, state of the art terminal was built to expand the region's coal export capacity, becoming operational in 2016. WICET is a $4 billion investment which operates with a high degree of automation and is committed to operating in a safe, environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner.

We are currently seeking a Control Systems Specialist (lifestyle dayshift roster, 2 weekends a month) to be based in Gladstone. This role will be responsible for:

  • maintaining the Plant Control Systems (PCS) including hardware, software (PLC, HMI, alarming) and instrumentation;
  • supporting Operations including after hours on-call while on shift;
  • controlling all records and documentation for the PCS utilising Asset Centre;
  • managing the maintenance of all Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) including proof testing;
  • providing fault finding expertise to assist operational personnel and solving problems in a timely manner through root cause analysis and good engineering practices;
  • managing small Control Systems Projects from conception through scoping/scheduling to execution.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in a similar position along with the following skills, qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in electrical/control systems engineering.
  • Broad experience in maintaining control systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in PLC (RS LOGIX 5000) and SCADA (FT VIEW) system application.
  • Electrical or instrumentation trade level certificate (desirable).
  • Qualifications in Functional Safety - TÜV Certification (desirable).

  • An ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with all teams across the site.
