Chief Finance Officer

Harry Maxwell has been engaged to conduct an executive search for a fast-growing fintech company transforming how Australians engage with their financial wellbeing. With a mission to simplify and elevate wealth management, they integrate cutting-edge technology, advisory services, and data-driven insights to deliver holistic financial outcomes. Headquartered in Perth and operating nationally, our client is entering a new phase of strategic growth, capital expansion, and operational scale.

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy and governance of the business. This executive will be instrumental in shaping our clients' next chapter—driving capital efficiency, enabling strategic transactions, and embedding commercial discipline across the organisation.

The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering closely with the CEO and Board to guide financial decision-making, investor engagement, and regulatory compliance. This role demands a blend of strategic foresight, operational excellence, and stakeholder influence.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Capital Planning

  • Develop and execute long-range financial strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead capital planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support sustainable growth.
  • Advise the CEO and Board on capital structure, funding options, and financial risk.

Investor Relations & M&A

  • Manage relationships with institutional investors, venture partners, and capital markets.
  • Lead due diligence, valuation, and integration for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Prepare investor communications, board reporting, and financial narratives.

Operational & Commercial Excellence

  • Build scalable finance operations across technology, product, and advisory divisions.
  • Implement systems and controls to support rapid growth and cross-functional alignment.
  • Drive commercial performance through data-led insights and financial analytics.

Governance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, licensing obligations, and audit standards.
  • Oversee risk management frameworks and internal control environments.
  • Lead financial reporting, tax strategy, and treasury functions.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive in fintech, wealth management, or high-growth environments.
  • CA or CPA accreditation.
  • Demonstrated success in capital raising, M&A execution, and investor relations.
  • Strong command of financial strategy, governance, and operational scale.
  • Exceptional communication skills and boardroom presence.
  • Perth-based preferred; however, national candidates with outstanding credentials who are willing to relocate will be considered.
  • Current driver's license, national police clearance and full working rights.
