About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Systems Engineer / Endpoint Specialist for a contract with strong expertise in Windows Server Group Policies (GPOs) and Microsoft Intune to support a targeted migration project.

The focus of this contract role will be to audit existing Group Policy Objects and transition as many as possible into Intune. You'll help streamline, modernise, and document endpoint management configurations as part of our ongoing cloud-first strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing Windows Server Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Identify, document, and rationalize redundant or overlapping policies.
  • Map and migrate applicable GPO settings into Intune configuration profiles.
  • Validate and test Intune policy deployments in coordination with IT and security teams.
  • Ensure migrated settings align with organisational compliance and security standards.
  • Provide clear documentation and knowledge transfer at project completion.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server Group Policy Management (GPMC, ADMX templates, etc.).
  • Proven experience migrating GPOs to Microsoft Intune in a live environment.
  • Strong understanding of Azure AD, Intune device configuration, and modern endpoint management.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell for auditing, reporting, and automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Desirable

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-100, MD-102, or similar).
  • Experience working with security baselines, conditional access, and Windows compliance policies.
