The Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Leading Hand Boilermaker/Welder towork with one of our highly respected clients, who is based at the Bushmead site, to start immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Boilermaker who is ready to take the next step in their career and lead a skilled team in a dynamic workshop environment. This will also be an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing company and be responsible for welding high-quality products used across multiple industries.

In this hands-on role, you'll lead a skilled team in a fast-paced workshop environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality welding and fabrication work across various industries. You will also help drive safety, productivity, quality, and training outcomes on-site.

About the Role:

  • Immediate work available – ASAP start
  • Day shifts - 10 hours per day
  • Weekdays + Occasional weekend work
  • Site-based role at Bushmead
  • Ongoing opportunity

Key responsibilities :

  • Lead daily team operations, start-ups, and job allocations
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
  • Provide hands-on guidance and support to Boilermakers, Welders, Trades Assistants, and Apprentices
  • Assist with troubleshooting, on-the-job training, and resolving equipment or material issues
  • Interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory role on-site
  • Trade-qualified Boilermaker with a minimum of 3 years in steel fabrication
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) or equivalent
  • Current Australian driver's licence
