Master Teacher

The Academic Division oversees and delivers AEMG's academic programs, managing educational initiatives in collaboration with partner universities. These include:

• Teaching visit programs delivered by partners
• English language courses embedded in degree programs in China
• The DEP English language test
• Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral Qualifying Programs
• Academic subjects taught on behalf of global university partners, as well as International Credit Courses delivered at Chinese universities.

We are seeking an EAP Master Teacher to join our Academic division. The EAP Master Teacher will play a pivotal role in facilitating and coordinating academic activities in China and will be responsible for overseeing curriculum management, faculty coordination, staff professional development and student support to ensure smooth and high-quality delivery of the program.

Curriculum Management:

• Work with Academic Operations (Beijing) and branches to formulate and coordinate the AEMG English for Academic Purposes (AEAP) teaching plans, ensure the smooth operation of AEAP course delivery in each branch, and guarantee the achievement of teaching objectives.
• Monitor and update curriculum documents, course outlines, and syllabi to ensure curriculum alignment with academic standards, learning outcomes, and accreditation requirements
• Liaise with discipline lecturers Academic Content Workshops (ACW) to ensure AEAP and ACW course content development and alignment
• Deliver AEAP courses as substitute teacher in Chinese partner universities in emergency cases
• Assist in the planning, promotion and development of academic projects that enhance teaching and learning practice

Faculty Coordination:

• Facilitate faculty recruitment, induction, and professional development activities.
• Support faculty in designing and delivering quality AEAP course programs.

Student Support:

• Provide academic guidance and support to teachers in matters related to course understanding, academic progress, and program requirements.
• Develop student support programs for branches to enhance the academic experience of international students.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Implement quality assurance mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of AEAP course   programs, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to learning outcomes.
• Observe teaching in branches and liaise with all Branch Deputy Head and Course leaders, conduct periodic program reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to accreditation standards and best practices.
• Prepare and analyse academic data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and propose strategies for enhancement.
• Other responsibilities in line with the level of the role may be assigned by the Executive Director (Academic Operation) and/or Dean (College of Academic Language)

• Master's or PhD in Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' teaching experience in higher education.
• Demonstrated leadership in EAP curriculum development and innovation.
• Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with both Chinese and global education systems, regulatory policies is highly desirable.
