Expression of Interest- Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Woodham Petroleum Services is a family-owned business operating a regional network of fuel depots and outlets across NSW and QLD. We own and operate a substantial fleet of fuel tankers and are seeking a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our workshop in Townsville, North Queensland. This is a full-time, permanent position offering long-term stability and a supportive environment.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy vehicles, tankers and trailing equipment to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and reliable to support our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy vehicles, tankers, and related equipment
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections and identify potential issues to prevent breakdowns
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and service records to meet NHVAS compliance requirements
  • Work closely with the operations team to minimise downtime and ensure efficient fleet management
  • Uphold all WHS and safety procedures within the workshop environment

About You

  • Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in a road transport environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and air systems for road tankers and trailing equipment
  • Excellent diagnostic, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management
  • HC or MC driver's licence (preferred)
  • Sound understanding of on-road compliance and WHS regulations
  • Computer literacy and strong communication skills
