The Wodgina lithium operation is located 120km south of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. MinRes manages all mining operations at Wodgina, including a spodumene concentrate processing plant with an annual capacity of 900,000 tonnes (SC5.5).

The Role:

Our Wodgina Lithium operations are currently seeking an experienced Medical Emergency Services Officer (MESO) to join their team on an 8:6 roster.

As a site-based MESO, you will provide timely patient-centric medical services, proactively based on prevention, preparedness, response and recovery as well as providing prehospital care in a medical capacity. This will be a hands-on position providing medical and emergency response to those on site.  As a key team member, you will play a lead role in managing health and safety, ensuring Emergency and Medical Management Plans and systems are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24/7 onsite medical and pre-hospital emergency care, including necessary assessments and treatments.
  • Maintain and manage medical and emergency equipment and supplies.
  • Liaise with medical professionals and the Injury Management Team to coordinate care.
  • Ensure all medical records, forms, and statutory reporting are completed and confidentially managed.
  • Uphold compliance with Poisons Licence requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Support disease prevention strategies and remain current with best practices in patient care.
  • Review, update, and contribute to Emergency and Safety Management Plans.
  • Oversee medical aspects of emergency preparedness and response.
  • Conduct onsite fitness-for-work testing, including drug, alcohol, fatigue, mental health, and hydration assessments.
  • Participate in risk assessments, inductions, training, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
  • Promote health and safety, report hazards, and participate in debriefs.
  • Prepare weekly statistics, conduct inspections, and perform system audits as required.

What's required:

  • Diploma in Paramedical Science/ Diploma of Emergency Health Care or higher (essential)
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Remote medical experience
  • Current Driver's license (Manual)
  • Drug and Alcohol testing to ensure MRL Drug and Alcohol Standard testing requirements are adhered to
  • Certificate 4 in WHS and TAE (desirable)
  • Certificate III Emergency Response & Rescue OR Certificate III Public Safety (essential)
  • Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
  • Fire Fighting
  • Vertical Rescue
  • Road Crash Rescue
  • Hazardous Materials Response
