The Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) have been providing medical services to the West Australian people for over 90 years. As one of Australia's most iconic brands, every hour of every day, the RFDS is performing lifesaving work. This is the perfect opportunity for you to explore Port Hedland's rugged landscape while making a difference to the wellbeing of the people in the community.
This role can be offered as a full-time Port Hedland based role or FIFO from Perth month on, month off (0.5 FTE).

Who Are We Looking For?
To be successful in this role you should have experience in the following relevant areas:
- Aeromedical retrieval
- Telemedicine
- Flying medical clinics and
- Indigenous health
- Registration, or the ability to register, with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a Medical Practitioner
- A minimum of five years of postgraduate experience
- Significant experience in emergency medicine, anaesthesia, and acute paediatrics
- Able to independently manage critically ill and injured patients, including procedural skills relevant to critical care medicine
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- Available for a minimum of 12 months
- ACEM/ANZCA/CICM/FACRRM or FRACGP or equivalent, or experienced career medical officers
- Obstetric experience
- Primary health care experience
- Experience in pre-hospital or retrieval medicine
- Experience in regional or remote medical practice

- Permanent, full-time or part-time role (0.5 FTE FIFO - two weeks on, two weeks off or month on, month off)
- Salary packaging - up to $15,900 per annum for everyday expenses and up to $2,650 per annum on meals and entertainment expenses

From our bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra, our crews deliver exceptional health care to every corner of the state and are committed to the highest standards of clinical care, aviation safety and technology.
In 2024 the RFDS launched its new five-year strategy – Above & Beyond – which will lead the service into its centenary year in 2028. With a focus on expanding primary health care, growing profit-for-purpose services, strengthening our workforce, harnessing new technology and addressing our environmental sustainability; the RFDS in WA is striving to make a tangible and positive difference to the health of people in regional WA.
