An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Marketing Assistant to join this leading company in Asian food products, located in Sydney West. This position will report to the Brand /Marketing Manager, and be responsible for providing day-to-day marketing support to the Sales & Marketing team.

Position Profile:

  • Support the Sales and Marketing team on a daily basis.
  • Assist in the production of advertising, marketing brochures, or other promotional materials.
  • Coordinate marketing/ promotional events eg. Food shows, festivals, media announcements, product demonstrations, etc.
  • Reporting of the company's sales performance through the use of appropriate marketing reports.
  • Database development and maintenance.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Marketing and Promotions

  • Work with the Sales & Marketing team and contribute new product launch ideas and implement marketing concepts.
  • Identify advertising opportunities and in-store promotion opportunities. Participate in or conduct promotional exhibitions if the opportunity presents itself or when required.
  • Support the development and distribution of marketing and sales materials.
  • Assist in the production of advertising, marketing brochures, or other promotional materials.
  • Liaison with printers for advertising artwork design to ensure all deadlines are met and work with administrators to ensure prices remain competitive.
  • Coordinate marketing/ promotional events eg. Food shows, festivals, media announcements, product demonstrations, etc.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of competitions, lucky draws, and communication with suppliers on expectations and artwork.

Marketing Research

  • Conduct market research and report on current market trends, new products, and industry trends;
  • Conduct competitor analysis and report on competitor activities;
  • Conduct consumer analysis; identify consumer (end users) and customers' (retails and food services) needs and recommend appropriate product ranges to achieve profitable growth;
  • Design questionnaires and conduct marketing surveys to better understand consumers' buying preferences, their perception of products, etc.;
  • Visit stores for best/worst seller meetings.

Website management

  • Maintain the company's website and ensure all content is up to date.
  • Database development and maintenance.

Sales Reporting

  • Reporting of the company's sales performance through the use of appropriate marketing reports.

Customer Service

  • Assistance with the handling of telephone inquiries related to the company's products and services.

General Administration

  • Perform clerical and administrative support duties for the department including filing, maintenance of records and files, and other duties as required by your Manager.
  • Be the contact for most print and cable marketing eg. Newspapers, magazines, TVBJ
Skills Required
  • Proven marketing administration experience
  • Strong PC skills and experience with MS Office applications
  • Chinese speaking skills
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivation, driven and proactive
  • A team player
  • Exposure to the food industry is desirable
