We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and customer driven Transport Planner to join our team. The Transport Planner will be responsible for coordinating the SWL truck fleet to ensure that containers are moved from shipping wharfs to the customer or yard, within optimum timeframes.

You will play a critical role in scheduling drivers, managing time slots with terminals, and providing outstanding customer service while balancing operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and allocate daily wharf container movements
  • Manage and coordinate with customers and their planning and delivery schedules on a daily basis, ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Manage driver rosters and optimise fleet utilisation.
  • Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, and safety requirements.
  • Provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders on job status.
  • Support continuous improvement of planning processes and systems as the business grows.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented planner who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys problem-solving.

  • Previous experience in wharf cartage, container transport, or port logistics planning essential.
  • Strong understanding of port operations and terminal booking systems (1-Stop, Containerchain & FreightTracker).
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with drivers, terminals, and customers.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
