IT NETWORK AND SYSTEM SPECIALIST

  • Sydney CBD based
  • Innovative and collaborative team environment
  • Manage client data related to the Asia Pacific region (including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc). Chinese-speaking will be advantaged but not necessary

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is a financial services group that is looking for a highly talented IT Network & System Specialist to join their Sydney CBD head office.

You will be responsible for:

  • Effective planning/provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure
  • Technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure
  • Administer Windows, Linux and applications and database servers
  • Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability
  • Supervise or work with other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate and implement network security.
  • Maintain network, hardware, and software
  • Install, configure, and support an organization's Windows and Linux operating systems, LAN, WAN, Leased line, Internet, and segment of network.
  • Management of external service providers

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3+ years of administration experience in Azure, M365, Ubuntu, Linux (RHEL) and Windows
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Solid Bash/ksh shell scripting
  • Hyper-V, Virtual Box, MS SQL, MySQL, Informix
  • Windows Active Directory, IIS, Group policy
  • Strong understanding of Networking and cyber security concepts
  • Sonicwall Firewall, VPN and Cisco Switches
  • PABX and VoIP
  • Experience dealing with third party suppliers / vendors
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to changing business needs - Chinese-speaking will be advantaged but not necessary
  • Well organised and an eye for detail
