About the role / A snapshot of your new role

Reporting to the Supervisor Irrigation, the Irrigation Maintainer will monitor and maintain irrigation systems in line with service level agreements, and to ensure the supply and distribution of water in line with design specifications.

A snapshot of your new role:

  • Inspect, test and maintain irrigation systems on a routine basis
  • Diagnose and repair faults and breakages
  • Program irrigation controllers, ensuring optimum operating and watering schedules
  • Provide specialist irrigation advice and mentoring to others within the team

What you will bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in installing and maintaining commercial irrigation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and electrical diagram schematics
  • Knowledge of principles of irrigation system design and hydraulic behaviour and electrical systems pertaining to these systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively and safely in both a team environment and autonomously
  • Knowledge of general issues relevant to horticulture and turf
  • Experience in turf maintenance and small plant operation is desirable
  • Irrigation or horticulture qualifications or certificates would be a bonus
  • Valid 'C' class driver's licence (LR class is desirable)
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance (under six months)
