This position will support the delivery of the Safe Relationships program that is aimed at reducing violence amongst young people through [1] Healthy relationships and Social Groups for young identifying women, genderfluid persons, or nonbinary folk with experiences of unhealthy relationships, toxicity, and family violence and [2] Delivery of the K.I.N.D program; a young person's psycho-educational behaviour change program directed at young people using violence in intimate partner and/or family of origin relationships.

You'll be a great candidate for this role if you:

  • Possess a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent experience in Criminology, with a strong foundation in theory and practice with vulnerable youth.
  • Are skilled in building rapport with at-risk youth and providing holistic, client-centered support tailored to complex and diverse individual needs.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of trauma, development, substance use, mental health, and cultural and gender norms affecting young people's wellbeing.
  • Possess knowledge of domestic and family violence dynamics, with experience in risk assessment, safety planning, and supporting both victims and perpetrators.
  • Have strong facilitation and communication skills, able to lead individual and group sessions, advocate effectively, and manage competing priorities independently.

Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables. You'll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

  • A Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
  • A National Coordinated Criminal History Check [Police Check].
  • Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases – Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; Pertussis [Whooping Cough]
