Bright Steps Academy is opening a brand-new, purpose-built childcare centre in Bentleigh, VIC, and we're looking for a Centre Director and Assistant Director to lead our founding team.

What you'll do – Centre Director
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a passionate team of educators
  • Oversee enrolments, compliance, and smooth daily operations
  • Build strong family and community partnerships
  • Drive quality outcomes, curriculum implementation, and continuous improvement
  • Set the vision and culture for a new centre
  • Ensure child safety and wellbeing are at the core of every decision and practice

What you'll do – Assistant Director
  • Support the Centre Director in leading and mentoring the team
  • Assist with day-to-day operations and administrative tasks
  • Help manage enrolments, compliance, and reporting requirements
  • Contribute to curriculum delivery and quality improvement initiatives
  • Step in as acting Centre Director when required
  • Support and uphold child safety policies and procedures throughout the centre

What we're looking for
  • 2+ years leadership experience in Early Childhood Education (Centre Director)
  • ECT qualification or Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of NQF, EYLF & compliance standards
  • A genuine passion for inspiring people and delivering high-quality care
  • Commitment to child safety, wellbeing, and creating a nurturing, protected environment
