Malabar South Indian Restaurant

  • We are looking for a Cook with extensive knowledge and skill in Indian cooking.

This is a full time position working both lunch and dinner shifts. Duties It is a 100% hands on position, preparing produce and meats for cooking, cooking on the range and developing new dishes. We work in a team, but you must be able to take initiatives to improve and develop. Requirements To be successful in the role you should have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a la carte and function work in a similar environment
  • Sound knowledge of commercial cooking and experience working with Indian cuisine
  • Friendly and flexible disposition that encourages client and customer feedback and that demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Joining the existing Team and reporting to the Head Chef, this position will ideally suit an applicant with at least 3 years experience.

Required experience:

  • Cook: 1-2 years
  • Qualification Cert IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management
  • Required language:
  • English
  • Tamil / Malayalam would be advantageous although not necessary
