Principal Workforce Analyst

Human Resources (HR) plays a critical role in meeting the department's strategic priorities by ensuring it has the workforce required to deliver on its objectives now and into the future. Our focus is on attracting, recruiting, engaging, and developing skilled and diverse talent to meet both operational and strategic needs. As the Principal Workforce Analyst, you will
• Provide expert analytical advice and contemporary reporting capability to team members and internal and external stakeholders, including development, delivery and interpretation of workforce metrics.
• Research, coordinate and manage workforce projects and initiatives for enhanced reporting, focussing on best practice data analytics and reporting principles and communicate with influence to ensure positive outcomes.
• Contribute to identifying and reviewing of alternative data analysis tools and methodologies to determine their suitability for application within the Human Resources environment, to improve workforce data collection strategies.
• Promote continuous improvement in the development and use of business intelligence to monitor organisational performance.
• Deliver high quality workforce reporting and analytics and data insights which support the strategic and operational direction of the organisation, through analysis of risk, opportunity and evidence-based recommendations to drive quality decision making.
The position requires an applicant who can:
• Proven success in the preparation and delivery of contemporary workforce analytics; encompassing research, analysis and trend interpretation.
• Demonstrated high level skills and ability to strategically plan, coordinate and implement accurate and timely data design, collection, analysis and practical reporting solutions, using analytical tools and business intelligence systems.
• Expertise in programming languages (e.g., SQL, DAX, M Query) and Power BI and the proven ability to build, query and validate datasets, to produce a range of data visualisation outputs (e.g., Advanced MS Excel, Power BI).
• Proven highly developed computer literacy and data analysis skills, together with experience and capability to identify, embrace and employ emerging contemporary software technologies and tools.
