We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Truck Driver / Pump Operator to operate a heavy rigid (HR) truck equipped with a Bark Blower. The role involves driving to various worksites, setting up the truck and equipment, and safely transferring bulk materials through hoses to designated locations. The ideal candidate will have experience handling non-synchromesh (Road Ranger) gearboxes, a strong understanding of load safety and site procedures, and the ability to work independently or in small teams. Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are essential to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate HR/HC truck fitted with pumping system and hose equipment.
  • Perform pre-start safety inspections and routine maintenance checks.
  • Drive to project sites across Sydney and surrounding areas, ensuring compliance with road and site safety regulations.
  • Set up hoses, clamps, and fittings to deliver materials efficiently and safely.
  • Monitor pumping pressure and flow rates during operation.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and job completion records.
  • Clean, service, and secure equipment after each job.
  • Liaise with supervisors, clients, and team members to ensure job specifications are met.
  • Adhere to all WHS and environmental policies.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Current HR or HC licence (unrestricted, Road Ranger competent).
  • Proven experience operating manual, non-synchromesh transmissions.
  • Experience working in construction, landscaping, or civil environments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of load restraint, PPE use, and site safety compliance.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Physically fit and capable of handling hoses and outdoor work.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and teamwork skills.

Desirable:

  • White Card (General Construction Induction).
  • Basic mechanical or hydraulic maintenance experience.
  • Experience operating material transfer or vacuum trucks.

Employment Type:

Full-time / Casual (depending on availability)

Pay: $37.00 – $46.16 per hour
