About us
At CitiPower and Powercor, we're proud to deliver electricity to 1.3 million Victorian customers every day through our network of poles and wires. But more than that, we're here to power communities, support local businesses and keep critical services running smoothly, we're essential to them all – and none of this happens without our people.
We believe in an inclusive, welcoming workplace where everyone feels safe, valued and respected. From offering great benefits to creating real opportunities for growth, we're committed to supporting you, your career and wellbeing. It's why our people stick around, whether you live in the city or across regional and rural Victoria, we're doing the work where it matters most - right in your own community. As Victorians electrify everything from homes to transport, we're focused on ensuring our networks are ready to meet that demand.
If you want to be part of something essential, be essential with us.
About the role
We're looking for an experienced and people-focused Team Manager – Asset Inspection to lead a group of Asset Inspectors responsible for maintaining the safety, compliance and reliability of our electricity network.
In this role you'll manage the daily delivery of the inspection program — ensuring field work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) requirements and company policy. You'll provide clear direction to your team, support inspectors in the field, and maintain oversight of safety, quality and productivity standards.
You'll also play a key role in developing and mentoring inspectors, embedding consistent technical standards, and driving improvements in how we deliver our inspection program.
This is a practical, people-centred leadership role that suits someone who enjoys being close to field operations while also managing performance, compliance, and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of Asset Inspectors to deliver inspection work safely, on schedule and in line with ESV policy requirement
- Monitor daily progress and resourcing, ensuring workloads are balanced and program targets are met.
- Conduct monthly quality and technical audits to confirm inspections meet company and regulatory standards.
- Provide coaching and feedback to uplift inspection quality, accuracy and consistency.
- Champion a strong safety culture — verifying fleet, tools and equipment are maintained, serviced and compliant.
- Communicate updates on policy, process and technical changes to ensure your team stays informed and aligned.
- Work closely with Schedulers, Program Support Officers and Project Managers to coordinate program delivery and resolve access or scheduling issues.
- Support ESV audits, investigations and improvement actions as required.
- Promote continuous improvement and contribute to developing inspection procedures and manuals.
- Foster a positive team culture built on accountability, communication and mutual respect.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess
- Certificate II in Asset Inspection (ESI – Asset Inspection & Testing)
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising field-based teams
- Strong understanding of the Asset Inspection Manual (AIM) and related compliance standards
- Proven ability to manage safety, quality and productivity outcomes in an operational environment
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
