Seeking an enthusiastic and diligent Washing Up Person to join our busy catering team at our Avoca Beach location. As a Washing Up Person, you will play a vital role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently by taking care of all dishwashing and cleaning duties. This is a casual position with flexibility in terms of hours and scheduling.

What you'll be doing

  • Thoroughly cleaning and sanitising all pots, pans, dishes, utensils and equipment used in food preparation
  • Loading and unloading the commercial dishwasher and hand-washing items as needed
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Restocking clean items and supplies as required
  • Assisting the kitchen team with any other general cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a similar washing up or kitchen porter role, ideally in a fast-paced catering or hospitality environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work quickly and efficiently
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
