About You

You are a passionate and experienced medical leader, ready to contribute to the strategic direction of a major clinical program. With fellowship of a relevant college and registration as a specialist medical practitioner (or equivalent), you bring a wealth of clinical and leadership experience. You are committed to excellence in patient care, education, and research, and thrive in complex, multidisciplinary environments.

About the Role

Monash Health is reimagining the way care is led and delivered. As part of our refreshed organisational structure, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Medical Director to lead the General Medicine Service.

Reporting to the Program Medical Director, this role plays a key part in:

  • Provide expert clinical leadership across a diverse portfolio of specialties
  • Lead service redesign and innovation to improve access, safety, and sustainability
  • Support senior clinicians to deliver safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care
  • Champion quality and safety, embedding a culture of continuous improvement
  • Champion continuous improvement and medical workforce development
  • Strengthen academic and research partnerships
  • Continue to provide clinical service in your specialty and contribute to on-call rosters

This is a pivotal leadership role that will shape the future of care delivery across a diverse and impactful portfolio.
