The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially astute and technically-minded Technical Sales Specialist to join our pre-sales team. In this pivotal, customer-facing role, you'll partner with Business Technology Advisors to translate complex needs into value-driven solutions, and work closely with our IT Engineers to design and customise offerings that address even the most challenging requirements - including advanced AI-powered capabilities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with prospects to identify real business needs, integration challenges, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Business Technology Advisors to qualify leads and develop technical sales strategies.
  • Partner with IT Engineers to design, customise, and document robust solutions across managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, mobility, and AI-powered technologies.
  • Prepare detailed technical proposals, solution architectures, and responses to RFPs and tenders.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations and technical presentations for stakeholders from C-level to IT managers.
  • Act as the primary technical advisor during the sales cycle, skillfully addressing client questions and integration/compliance issues.
  • Support competitive analysis and help drive service development improvements.
  • Ensure seamless handover from sales to implementation, and maintain ongoing client relationships.
  • Champion best practice, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred; TAFE qualifications considered.
  • Minimum 2 years in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or customer-facing IT role (MSP/IT services experience desirable).
  • Deep understanding of managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud, and/or mobility.
  • Experience with B2B sales process, technical proposal writing, RFPs, and CRM.
  • Proficiency in technical analysis, solution design, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, cybersecurity).
  • Familiarity with Australian compliance/security frameworks.
  • Experience in enterprise mobility management or unified communications.
  • Exposure to government/enterprise/regulated sector clients.
