We are looking for a passionate and dedicated team member to join us in supporting independent adults with disabilities

  • Full-time position – 38 hours per week
  • SCHADS 5
  • Monday to Friday – no weekend work
  • Flexibility required – occasional hands-on support outside standard business hours to meet operational needs
  • Location – Lane Cove, Hunters Hill, and Ryde areas

About the Organisation

Sydney Community Services is a registered NDIS provider delivering community participation and in home support across Lane Cove, Hunters Hill and Ryde areas in Sydney.   The role of the Disability Service Manager is to oversee the day-to-day operations of all disability programs to ensure a high quality of person centre support is delivered to participants

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee service delivery, ensuring the effective implementation of individual NDIS plans tailored to each participant's goals and needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, their families, carers, and other key stakeholders to support positive outcomes and person-centred care.
  • Lead and manage the workforce, providing guidance, supervision, and support to ensure high-quality service delivery and team cohesion.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal policies, procedures, and external standards, including those set by regulatory and funding bodies.
  • Manage feedback and risk proactively, including handling complaints, incidents, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to oversee facilities, assets, financial performance, budgeting, and Work Health and Safety, ensuring operational efficiency and sustainability.

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing services within the disability sector or a similar human services environment.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive impact in the lives of people with disability.
  • Strong understanding of complex disability support needs, including behaviour support and management strategies.
  • Knowledge of both medical and social models of care, and how they apply to person-centred service delivery.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and foster positive relationships.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS, including the principles of Active Support and a human rights-based approach to service delivery.
  • Proficient in using digital tools and systems, with strong computer literacy.
