Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Allied Health Assistants to join the Acute Multidisciplinary team at Northern Health - Epping Campus.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About the Role:
To provide quality patient care under the supervision of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists within the inpatient team at Northern Hospital Epping. To carry out patient related support activities that promote patient centred care, improve patient flow, and facilitate efficient and effective discharges. The role will include the provision of individual therapy to inpatients and will include group-based therapy. The role will also include undertaking cleaning and maintenance of assistive equipment. This role includes working with the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams at Northern Hospital Epping.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and good working knowledge of working with inpatients under the support of allied health clinicians
- Proven ability to work well within a team
- Demonstrated experience with handovers and documentation
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Implement appropriate intervention as agreed, under the supervision of an Allied Health Clinician (e.g shower and dress retraining)
- Assists clinicians and clients in group programs
- Provide education to patients and their carers to support Allied Health clinician interventions (e.g. falls prevention, energy conservation, pressure injury management and prevention
