As a Research Grants Officer at the University of Melbourne, you'll have the opportunity to support cutting-edge research by managing post-award administration of research funding. You'll work closely with academics, university departments, and external funding agencies to ensure high-quality outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:

• Manage Post-Award Administration: Provide high-quality support for funded research, ensuring compliance and timely reporting to funding bodies.
• Build and Maintain Relationships: Establish excellent connections with internal and external stakeholders, offering impactful advice to researchers and administrators.
• Support Grant Management Processes: Assist in negotiating and accepting research funding, coordinating communications, and maintaining accurate data in research management systems.
• Contribute to University Initiatives: Help organise training seminars, workshops, and special programs to support the research community.

You are a detail-oriented professional with excellent administrative and communication skills, capable of managing complex tasks independently while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced research environment.

You may also:

• Have a tertiary qualification with relevant experience in a similar role.
• Possess strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Track record of showing good judgement, initiative and ability to undertake tasks with minimum supervision, seeking advice and escalating issues when required
• Have experience in maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
• Be adaptable and thrive in a flexible, changing environment.
• Have experience working in a university setting (desirable).
