We are currently seeking an experienced Childcare Cook to join our supportive team in Hurstville, NSW.

This position is a Permanent Full-time role for 5 days a week, Monday to Friday (non-negotiable).

You will be doing 38 hours per week on an average - 7.30AM - 3.30PM Monday to Thursday, and 7.30AM - 4PM on Friday.

As a Childcare Cook, your core responsibilities will include the following:

  • Comply with all relevant legislation, early childhood regulations, policies, procedures, and work guidelines.
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals that are culturally appropriate for children 0-6 years.
  • Provide for/or supplement alternative foods/beverages for children with allergies or special food/dietary requirements.
  • Prepare weekly stock take and ordering.
  • Maintain and ensure a high level of cleanliness and hygiene such as cleaning and washing.
  • Ensure all meals and snacks are ready by the time specified by the Director.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience working as a Chef or Cook
  • Previous experience in cooking for in an Aged Care, Hospital or Childcare set up (desirable)
  • Relevant Commercial Cookery/Hospitality qualifications (preferred)
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • Food Handling and Safety Supervisory Certificate
  • Basic understanding of allergies, dietary requirements, and Nutrition
  • Experience in preparing and cooking nutritiously balanced meals in bulk quantities
