About the Role
The Gallery Lounge and Bar is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager with a strong track record in supporting restaurant operations.
You should be proactive in leading and managing the team, while upholding a culture of excellence, fairness, and best practice in food and beverage services.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Oversee food and beverage requirements by working closely with the Chef to arrange and monitor orders, ensuring stock levels are maintained and service runs smoothly. Coordinate with the Day Manager to track usage and replenish supplies as needed.
- Manage staffing requirements in consultation with management, including rostering, scheduling, and payroll administration for employees across the restaurant, bar, and tour operations.
- Together with the Chef, assess and negotiate with suppliers to implement cost-effective purchasing strategies, including sourcing locally to achieve quality and value.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee catered functions and special events for corporate and private clients.
- Provide leadership and direction to the operations team, motivating staff to deliver high standards of service and customer care.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with workplace health and safety obligations and industry regulations.
- Deliver training and development programs for staff, covering areas such as induction, workplace safety, and cash handling procedures.
- Address and resolve operational concerns, including employee issues and customer complaints, in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and implement marketing initiatives to promote the business and drive customer engagement.
- Interact with guests to ensure service quality and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Skills and Qualifications
- A relevant Diploma qualification, or at least 3 years of employment experience within the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a managerial role in hospitality.
- Customer-focused, with a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
- A strong desire to train, motivate, and lead a team.
- Excellent presentation, organisational, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of OH&S/WH&S.
- Current RSA and Food Safety Certificates
