The Opportunity

We're searching for a commercially driven Business Network Manager to grow and lead the NBL's business networking ecosystem.

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this role is all about driving revenue, building premium connections, and delivering high-value experiences for our business community. You'll acquire and retain members, host exclusive networking events, and create meaningful commercial opportunities aligned to the NBL brand.

What You'll Do Business Network Growth & Sales

Lead the acquisition of new Business Network members, delivering against revenue and growth targets. You'll identify and pitch prospective members across key industry segments, develop sales strategies to grow membership tiers, and manage the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting through to onboarding.

Member Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with Business Network members as their primary point of contact. You'll ensure high engagement and satisfaction, proactively identify upsell and renewal opportunities, and continuously improve the member value proposition based on feedback.

Network Events & Experiences

Plan and deliver a calendar of high-quality business networking events aligned to NBL games and major moments. Working closely with internal teams, you'll host and facilitate events that encourage meaningful connections between members while reflecting the premium nature of the NBL brand.

Commercial Strategy & Reporting

Contribute to the Business Network commercial strategy while tracking performance against revenue, retention, and engagement KPIs. You'll prepare regular reports and insights on membership performance and identify opportunities for growth.

Brand & Stakeholder Alignment

Represent the NBL brand professionally at all Business Network events and meetings. You'll collaborate with internal stakeholders to align activity with broader commercial objectives and ensure everything reflects NBL brand values and standards.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience in commercial sales, membership sales, or business development
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to sell value-based propositions
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a broader commercial team

Bonus Points For

  • Experience managing or hosting business networking events
  • Background in sports, entertainment, or membership-based organisations
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or related field
  • A passion for basketball and connecting people through sport
