The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. About the Role
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of Brighton State School by ensuring the grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard. Reporting directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate, you will perform a variety of tasks to support the school's operations and environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform day-to-day activities such as delivering mail, preparing classrooms, and maintaining school supplies and assets.
- Support security duties, including locking and unlocking buildings and maintaining security systems.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, including mowing, gardening, and preparing outdoor sporting facilities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Coordinate repairs and liaise with tradespersons to maintain school facilities and equipment.
This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, values teamwork, and takes pride in creating a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.
About You

- Effective communication skills to liaise with staff, students, and external personnel.
