Position Summary:

The Material Controller is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of material flow and logistics within the facility. This includes order processing, material ordering, stock control, line feeding, incoming goods, and dispatch. The role ensures materials are available when and where needed to support efficient production and timely customer deliveries.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process customer orders and ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Manage material ordering in alignment with production schedules and inventory levels.
  • Maintain accurate stock control, including monitoring, counting, and reporting of inventory levels.
  • Coordinate line feeding operations to ensure the right parts are delivered to production lines at the right time.
  • Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Manage the dispatch of finished goods, ensuring correct packaging, documentation, and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of all material movements in the ERP or inventory management system.
  • Liaise with suppliers, production, and warehouse staff to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics and material handling.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a materials/logistics role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, order processing, and supply chain logistics.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Forklift license and experience (if applicable).

Work Environment:

  • Split between office and shop floor/warehouse environment.
  • May involve physical activity such as lifting, walking, and operating material handling equipment.
