Senior Contract Manager

My client are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager with expertise in IT and a strong legal background to join our team on a 6-month contract. This role will be instrumental in managing complex commercial arrangements, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy & Management: Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with organizational objectives, particularly within the IT space.
- Contract Negotiation & Management: Lead negotiations for high-value contracts, including vendor agreements, service-level agreements (SLAs), and technology partnerships. Ensure contracts are legally sound and commercially viable.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with IT projects and commercial arrangements. Provide expert advice on legal implications and compliance requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (legal, IT, finance) and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives. Build strong relationships with vendors and partners.
- Legal Advisory: Provide guidance on legal matters related to IT procurement, intellectual property rights, data privacy, cybersecurity regulations, and other relevant areas.
- Performance Monitoring: Track the performance of commercial agreements to ensure deliverables are met within agreed timelines and budgets. Recommend improvements where necessary.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed reports for senior leadership on commercial activities, risks, opportunities, and outcomes.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience in commercial management roles, ideally within the IT sector or healthcare industry.
- Legal Expertise: Strong background in law (e.g., LLB or equivalent qualification). Experience in contract law, IT law, or corporate law is desirable.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with IT systems, software procurement processes, cloud services agreements, and emerging technologies such as AI or telehealth platforms.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successfully negotiating complex contracts with multiple stakeholders.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess risks and opportunities from both legal and commercial perspectives.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with technical teams, legal advisors, executives, and external partners.
- Education: Degree in Law or Business Administration; additional qualifications in IT or project management will be advantageous.
