About the Opportunity

Piacentini & Son, the principal contractor leading mine site rehabilitation works in the Peel region of Western Australia, are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Minesite Surveyor to join our on-site team. This is a pivotal role that will oversee and conduct all surveying activities, ensuring precise spatial data and reliable measurements. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of our mobile GPS networks, working closely with our operations and technical support teams to ensure reliability across multiple sites. This role is integral to the successful execution of rehabilitation works, ensuring that they meet both environmental and operational standards. This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity that will be well suited to someone local to the Peel area.

About You

  • 7+ years experience in a similar role (Civil or Rehabilitation environments)
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Authorised Mine Surveyor's Certificate of Competency - Grade 2
  • Proficient in Pix4d, Trimble Business Centre, Carson, Topcon 3D Office, Trimble Earthworks and Point Studio software
  • Hold a valid RePL (Remote Pilot Licence)
  • Experienced in Safe Drone Operations
  • Display a clear commitment and focus on the health, safety and well-being of all employees
  • Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills
  • Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence
  • Willingness to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical & Drug / Alcohol Screen

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys and capture accurate data using advanced surveying tools and software
  • Monitor and document rehabilitation progress to ensure compliance with project timelines and regulatory standards
  • Operate drones (DJI Phantom 4, Mavic, M300) for aerial surveying and mapping
  • Preparation and Submission of Monthly Claims
  • Prepare EOW (End of Week) and EOM (End of Month) volume and progress reports
  • Ensure design files and operating envelopes are correctly loaded and accessible
  • Conduct weekly accuracy checks and maintain system tolerances
  • Collaborate with project leaders and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
  • Perform topographical surveys to guide site rehabilitation
  • Develop and manage GPS machine control files
  • Ensure the site meets environmental and legal requirements throughout the rehabilitation process
  • Provide support, as required, for systems at other operational sites
