Hilliard State School in Alexandra Hills is seeking a reliable cleaner to join our supportive team and help maintain a clean, safe environment for students and staff.
This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact in a friendly school community with stable weekday work.
The position runs Monday to Friday, with split shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

About the Role

As the Cleaner, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors, and cupboards.
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
  • Controlling cobwebs and mildew, utilising extendable equipment as necessary.
  • Cleaning concrete, bitumen, asphalt, and paved surfaces.
  • Disposing of rubbish and controlling litter, including removing material from drains and gutters between and around buildings.
  • Dusting student and office furniture, equipment, and fans.
  • Hosing surfaces as required.
  • Removing graffiti.
  • Sweeping and vacuuming.
  • Maintaining vinyl and timber floors, including buffing, stripping, and polishing.
  • Setting school alarms and occasionally liaising with contractors.
  • Performing other appropriate cleaning duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager.
