is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a
Commercial Support Officer
to support the delivery of advanced Tactical Data Link capabilities within the Joint Force by leading commercial and procurement activities for a high-impact Defence project based in Canberra.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

  • Manage complex ASDEFCON contracts and lead negotiations with prime contractors.
  • Drive procurement strategies and develop key documentation for major acquisitions.
  • Provide expert commercial advice and ensure compliance with Defence policy.
  • Coordinate contract meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Mentor APS commercial staff and contribute to team capability development.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in Defence procurement and contract management.
  • Strong understanding of ASDEFCON templates and Commonwealth procurement rules.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Formal qualifications in contracting/procurement (Cert IV or higher).
  • Desirable: Experience in Defence projects and knowledge of TDL technologies.
  • Currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
  • In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be an inherent requirement.
