At mecwacare, we are seeking an experienced Program Assistant to deliver the full range of client centered services to ensure a healthy and safe environment for our clients in our Penrose Centre in Tarneit.  Program Assistants are responsible for the provision of quality, flexible centre-based and community-based day activities for people who are frail, aged or have a disability. The role alternates across groups from time to time.

What you bring:

  • Sound and proven experience working with people with disabilities and aging individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working with elderly people developing strategies to gain best outcomes for all.
  • An ability to write plans for programs and activities and work within budgets.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for networking with clients, families and the community sector.
  • An understanding or desire to learn the principles of person-centred planning and experience in transforming plans into actions.
  • Knowledge and experience aged sector
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current First Aid level 2.
  • Qualification in aged care or Disability
  • Full Victorian Driver's Licence.
  • Preparedness to drive a 10-seater bus.

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering person-centred outcomes.
  • HLTFS207C 'Follow Basic Food Safety Practices'.
