About the role

This role provides strategic workforce planning expertise to support a centralised operational model across Sport and Recreation Centres. It focuses on planning recruitment and distribution of staffing resources to enable cost-effective rostering of staff across the Centres in response to client bookings and organisational priorities. Through data analysis, tailored advice, and targeted training, the role builds capability among Centre and Venue leadership teams to optimise staff engagement and utilisation and informs decisions on seasonal, temporary, and ongoing workforce needs.

Working closely with People & Culture and operational leaders, the role supports recruitment planning, procedural development, and compliance with legislative requirements. It also monitors the implementation of workforce plans, ensuring alignment with wellbeing, WHS, and award conditions. By preparing regular reports and coordinating initiatives such as induction programs and internal mobility frameworks, the role contributes to improved staff performance and long-term workforce sustainability.

About you

You are a skilled workforce planning professional with a strong grasp of data analysis, operational staffing, and compliance. You provide expert advice and training to leaders, enabling consistent and cost-effective rostering aligned with organisational needs. With a focus on building capability and improving service delivery, you support strategic staffing decisions and drive initiatives that enhance performance and workforce sustainability.'

Key knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated experience supporting workforce planning in a multi-site operational environment, with the ability to apply consistent practices while accommodating site-specific needs.
  • Experience analysing business activity and staffing data to inform operational decisions and improve workforce utilisation, compliance, and service delivery outcomes.

Essential requirements

  • Undertake periodic site visits, including visits to all Sport and Recreation Centres to understand operational challenges and workforce needs across diverse locations.

Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and any requisite pre-employment health assessment. You will also be required to arrange a Working with Children Check, at your own expense.
