About the role

We're seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Agriculture students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent full-time basis, located at Dubo Campus with travel to other TAFE NSW campuses required.

In this role you will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. In this role you will deliver practical educational programs and facilitate learning in modern farming systems, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. Proudly teach students the art, science and practice of agriculture. Share fundamental skills and knowledge in handling livestock, operating Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicles and Quads, safe and effective operation of farm machinery, applying farm biosecurity measures, preparing and applying chemicals, constructing fencing, and establishing crops.

Essential Requirements:

  • Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Certificate III in Agriculture or equivalent.
  • Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document (here) for details ) OR a willingness to undertake our full time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years post qualification experience relevant to your industry

This is a targeted recruitment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in accordance with Rule 26 of the Government Sector Employment (General) Rules Employment of eligible persons. As such, preference will be given to candidates who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. If no suitable candidate is found, other applications may also be considered. Aboriginal candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide "Confirmation of Aboriginality" documentation at or before interview.

Paid to Learn: for candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification or equivalent, you have the option to be paid to learn as you transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work following successful completion of the 14 weeks Training and Assessment course. Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification or equivalent are still eligible to apply.
