The Role
Reporting the Group Manager Health and Safety, the Safety Superintendent is responsible for leading the Safety function on the allocated projects and ensuring CSI complies with the relevant OHS and Environmental legislation, Australian Standards, and client OHS and Environmental requirements on site.

The purpose of this role is to support the Engineering Construction Team in the ongoing improvement and implementation of MinRes' health and safety strategy and management framework. The role will assist in the assurance and sustainability of the business through regularly auditing and measuring our performance to ensure we are meeting our own standards and legislative obligations in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Safety team to influence the performance and growth of the region and its contracting partners.
  • Model best practice safety leadership by ensuring specialist and strategic advice, practical guidance and support.
  • Keep up with legislative changes and regulations.
  • Oversight of, and providing resources to, the investigation of incidents across the project. Reviewing adequacy of investigation findings and providing education on effective investigation outcomes and managing the Lessons Learnt process.
  • Review, develop, and monitor measurable lead and lag indicators.
  • Ensure relevant changes in legislation, regulations, and codes of practice are understood and lead change where required.
  • Conducting Occupational Health Safety Audits
  • Embedding MinRes Health Safety management systems during commencement of new projects.
  • Site Safety coverage, site leave arrangements.
  • Lead incident investigations as required.
  • Writing development of Safety Plans and procedures.

What You'll Bring To The Team

  • Minimum Diploma in Workplace, Health, and Safety or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and managing a Health and Safety Management systems.
  • Highly knowledgeable of the Western Australian regulatory requirements and administrative frameworks and experience in dealing with regulators relating to managing health and safety.
