AJM United is looking to employ a qualified Safety Advisor on our site works located at various sites around the Sydney metro area and supported by our Head Office located at Auburn.

AJM United is a contracting services business successfully delivering Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) contracts to the Infrastructure, Road, Rail, Water and Processing Industries.

The Opportunity

To be part of a skilled team of dedicated professionals providing Structural, Mechanical, Piping and Civil works in Fabrication, Installation, Maintenance and Projects, both on site and in our fabrication workshop located at Auburn.

The Role and Responsibilities

Working with the Project Managers and site Project teams, the Safety Advisor will ensure that our Safety systems and Processors are fully implemented on site and documented via our Procore System and comply with the Project Management plan and includes the following.

  • Complete Risk Assessments and SWMS, identifying risks and implementing appropriate control measures and communicating to the Project teams.
  • Ensure all Safety requirements are in place addressing any instances of Non-Conformance.
  • Manage the Competency and Skills matrix in conjunction with our Head Office for all site based employees including contractors on site.
  • Monitor delivery of Safety training and site specific Safety Induction requirements for the sites.
  • Ensure a proactive approach to co ordinating all Safety activities on site.
  • Good communication skills to conduct toolbox, prestart, discussions and training.
  • Recommend any corrective actions and coordinate the implementation on site.

Ensuring AJM's safety policies and procedures are implemented and documented via Procore.

Most importantly, that our Safety Advisor is proactive in supporting a strong safety culture across our Projects and supporting the well being of our employees and contractors on site and assisting us to continuously improve.

The Successful Applicant:

Will be qualified with a minimum cert 4 and display a strong knowledge of WHS & E along with compliance requirements for Projects.

Will have minimum 5 years site experience, and exposure to Procore is an advantage as all our documentation, correspondence, project plans, MDR's are found here.

Will support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement throughout the business and on our Projects.
