About the Role

We are seeking skilled Mechanical Technicians to join our maintenance team working on Wellsite Power Packages in the CSG industry in the Surat Basin, Queensland.

The roles are on a permanent, fulltime basis for long-term maintenance contracts and will be a 15:13 FIFO roster from Brisbane. (Locals strongly considered)

You will be responsible for mechanical servicing, inspections, and repairs of these rotating assets to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power generation in the field.

To successfully execute the role, you will require strong mechanical knowledge, ideally with experience on gas compression packages and wellsite assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and corrective maintenance on gas-driven engines, generators, and rotating machinery.
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on gas engines and associated power systems.
  • Conduct inspections, overhauls, and alignments in line with OEM specifications and client requirements.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maintain asset performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work packs, and reporting.

Who do we want to hear from?

  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting / Diesel Fitting.
  • Proven experience with gas or diesel engines, compressors, or generator sets.
  • Sound knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance and alignment practices.
  • Previous experience in oil & gas, CSG, or power generation will be highly regarded.
  • Strong safety focus and ability to work in remote field environments.

  • The following qualifications would be highly regarded:

  • HRWL to include; LF Forklift, DG Dogging

  • First Aid / CPR Training

  • PMASUP236B Operate and Maintain a 4WD Vehicle

  • MSMWHS217 Gas Test Atmospheres

  • Ability to pass a project specific pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen
