We are looking for a Civil Mainetence Engineer to join one of Sydney's leading councils in a 12-month contract role where you'll help maintain and improve essential civil infrastructure that keeps the city moving. In this role you will assist the Senior Coordinator Civil Asset Maintenance and Administration in providing effective and efficient maintenance of civil assets of the Council.

As a Civil Asset Maintenance Engineer, your key responsibilities are:

  • Assist in the efficient maintenance and management of Council's civil assets
  • Supervise contractors and staff to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification
  • Monitor quality, WHS compliance, and environmental standards
  • Provide cost estimates, scheduling, and technical advice to stakeholders
  • Liaise with authorities and the community to minimise disruptions and deliver positive outcomes

Key Skills and Experience

  • You're a civil engineer who thrives on problem-solving, teamwork, and driving results.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or related) with 4+ years' experience in construction, maintenance, or civil infrastructure management
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, WHS requirements, and civil engineering best practice
  • Experience supervising teams and contractors
  • A current Class C driver's licence
  • (Desirable) Local government or council experience
