Position overview

As a Management Accountant, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the management accounting, financial accounting, finance needs and strategic planning needs of Hanwha Energy Australia. This role is part of the Finance function within the Corporate Planning Team and is expected to operate effectively as a shared services business partner, supporting the installation business (Nectr Solar & Battery) as well. You will also be required to closely communicate and collaborate with CSO, CFO office in Korean HQ and multiple stakeholders in Australian office.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but not be restricted to:

Management Accounting and Planning

  • Prepare monthly financial performance reporting
  • Provide financial analysis and financial & operational information to business across entities
  • Prepare and manage financial risk, cash flow management and forecast
  • Prepare weekly and monthly management report about business performance and agenda
  • Prepare periodic and ad-hoc management report about business strategy and operations
  • Actively collaborate with business teams to analyze and manage business performance
  • Prepare and manage short-long term business strategy and business plan
  • Prepare and manage in preparing budget and managing budget variance
  • Prepare and manage in managing organization performance and delivering management directions
  • Other ad-hoc planning tasks as required

Financial Accounting

  • Analyse financial information
  • Record the financial transactions of a business in bookkeeping software (Xero)
  • Coordinate with management and staff to prepare budgets
  • Resolve account payable and receivable issues or queries
  • Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check and credit card transactions
  • Comply with Australian Accounting Standards Board for financial statements
  • Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation
  • Develop monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets
  • Complete end of month close procedures
  • Other ad-hoc accounting / finance / tax tasks as required (e.g. Internal Control, ITR, etc.)

Work experience & Skills

  • Highly proficient with Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Korean required
  • Be passionate, positive and an excellent team player
  • Experience with ERP's and cloud accounting software such as Xero
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in management accounting or financial analysis
  • Experience in Australian energy business highly desirable
  • Highly organised with strong ability to prioritise and deliver tasks to agreed deadlines
  • CA / CPA Preferred

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
