Don't come for an easy career. Stay for a rewarding one.
At Santos, we do work that matters and always have. When you join us, so will you.
As an ASX 20 global energy company, we're committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.
To make it happen, we work as One Team and ask ourselves, "How can we?" (Even when others say, "We can't.")
We're proud of our history as pioneers, problem-solvers, and pragmatists. And as we strive to achieve our Vision2040, we've got our sights set on a culture that is focussed and disciplined to drive value, and entrepreneurial and energised to leave a positive legacy.
The difference isn't just thinking big – it's delivering on it too.
As part of the team, you'll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It's no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.
What You'll Do
Based in either the Adelaide or Brisbane office, the primary objective of the Procurement Category Adviser is to develop and effectively execute sourcing strategies, contract management and supplier management activities across SA, QLD, NSW and PNG. This is an exciting and interesting role, interacting daily with a diverse group of internal stakeholders and critical suppliers.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
- Professionally representing the Procurement function and Santos internally and externally
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and sourcing strategies aligned
- Performing sourcing and contract management tasks that deliver sustained value to the company
- Negotiating contracts and maintaining external supplier relationships and market knowledge
- Managing and performing analysis of contract payment claims in collaboration with stakeholders
- Assisting the Procurement Category Lead, with category planning including the opportunity to develop and own a category plan with support and guidance
- Ensuring assigned contract compliance with all internal and external requirements, and effective administration of contracts
- Creating and maintaining accurate records in Company systems
- Managing and maintaining health of assigned contracts in line with the approved category strategy
- Allocating business requirements to existing panels to optimise sourcing process and consolidate spend under preferred vendors.
- Identity opportunities to increase local and indigenous participation outcomes.
What You'll Bring
The successful candidate will have previous experience in supply chain, contract administration or equivalent commercial contracting experience. You will be competent in Commercial Negotiations, Contract Terms and Conditions, Defining Contract Scope and Specifications, Supplier Relationship Management, Relationship and Influence, Commercial Orientation, Process Orientation, Supply Chain Systems, Sourcing and Purchasing to Pay Process.
While we seek candidates with a strong commercial acumen and tertiary qualification in business, commerce, law, engineering or supply chain management, it's the mindset and attributes we are focused on that will be critical to your success. This will include an ability to work alongside technical and business professionals, possessing a team-oriented approach and strong interpersonal skills.
If you are actively seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and driving efficiencies and can bring team members and peers along through collaborative strategies, we would like to hear from you.
What You'll Get
Here, you'll be amongst high-calibre people and get to work on industry-leading projects. We don't shy away from solving tough problems at pace. We like it that way. You can expect to be challenged and supported; to learn and grow.
At Santos, we're committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. This means a place that is safe; where you are valued and respected, and your contribution is recognised and appreciated. Join us, and you'll play a role in this too.
Each of our sites offer access to specific amenities that aim to create the best possible benefits to your health, wellbeing and performance. In Brisbane and Adelaide this includes Onsite Gym facilities, Onsite GP services and many more employee benefits.
What You're Part Of
Everywhere you turn you will be a part of a team who are coming together to contribute to our single uniting purpose - to provide reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone
And because it's not only what you do, but how you do it, you will also contribute to improving the living standards of the communities where we operate, building enduring and respectful relationships that serve a generation. It's about each of us, and all of us – together.
