We are seeking a dedicated Dam Safety Engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the long-term performance and capability of our dam portfolio. In this position, you will provide essential engineering advice and support, contributing to the development and delivery of our dam safety program. This involves sourcing expert technical and management advice to establish robust technical standards and maintenance plans, conducting critical condition assessments, and defining technical compliance requirements.

• Provide dam safety engineering advice and support across all regions, including developing and maintaining technical standards and procedures.
• Assist in delivering the dam safety assurance program, ensuring inspections, assessments, and investigations are completed to a high standard and on time.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry practices and drive improvements within Snowy Hydro.
• Establish and maintain the dam safety compliance framework, including reporting on status and improvement actions.
• Lead and continuously improve maintenance strategies for the dam portfolio in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of dam safety management systems.

This is a full time role based out of our Cooma office. You'll be part of a dedicated local team delivering key engineering advice to support sites across all of Snowy Hydro's existing dam assets. The role will also involve travel to other Snowy sites throughout the hydro generation scheme as required, providing diverse site exposure and the chance to work in a variety of environments.

To help you settle in, we provide relocation support for those moving to Cooma, NSW.

• Civil Engineering Degree with 2 years of experience in the dam safety industry, particularly in civil infrastructure management and asset management principles.
• Proven ability to source and manage technical advice from external parties.
• Commitment to work closely with regional maintenance teams to uplift maintenance practices and drive improvements in asset reliability.
• Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to deliver high - quality technical outcomes that align with both safety standards and key operational business objectives.
• Demonstrated strong communication skills, capable of interacting with a diverse range of personnel and customers.
• Proficient in computer skills, including spreadsheets and statistical analysis.
• Knowledgeable in OH&S, EEO, and Environmental Policies and standards.
• Able to work autonomously and as part of a team, adapting to changing circumstances and coaching others when required.
