MyConnect helps Australians moving house get their utilities connected – fast, easily, and reliably. We're growing quickly, and we're looking for a Developer Programmer (with a strong DevOps focus) to help us scale our cloud infrastructure, accelerate our deployments, and strengthen the resilience and efficiency of our systems.

This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute across programming, automation, and cloud engineering, shaping how we design, build, deploy, and operate everything we deliver.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse user needs, translate requirements into technical specifications, and design, develop, and maintain program code for applications and systems.
  • Build, test, debug, and document software applications to ensure they perform to specification and meet business and technical requirements.
  • Design and maintain secure, reliable AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation, ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines and AWS CodePipeline, enabling fast and reliable software delivery.
  • Automate deployment, provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and backup tasks to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead.
  • Identify deficiencies in existing applications, systems, and processes, and recommend improvements or upgrades.
  • Collaborate with engineers on architecture migration from monolith to microservices, deployment strategies, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation, end-user guides, and operational procedures to support software and infrastructure.
  • Monitor system and application performance using CloudWatch and related tools, diagnosing and resolving errors, bottlenecks, and faults.
  • Contribute to security, compliance, and audit readiness by applying best practices (ISO 27001 exposure desirable).
  • Participate in full-stack development where needed:

  • Frontend: , React, Blazor.

  • Backend/API: , TypeScript, C#/.NET Core.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years' experience in software development with exposure to DevOps or cloud engineering.
  • Strong programming ability across multiple languages , TypeScript, C#/.NET Core, Python, Bash).
  • Proficiency in AWS services and infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerised deployment workflows.
  • Strong debugging, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks and backend API development.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS Fargate, Lambda, or serverless tooling.
  • Exposure to Datadog or similar observability stacks.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 or equivalent compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in growth-stage or scaling environments.
