The Painter is responsible for the preparation and application of high-quality protective coatings on structural steel components. This includes surface preparation, precise coating application using airless pumps, and adherence to strict quality control standards.

The role demands exceptional attention to detail to achieve consistent coating thickness, coverage, and finish, ensuring all work meets project specifications and relevant quality standards (CC2 & CC3).

  • Operate and maintain all painting equipment in safe working order.
  • Keep the work environment clean, disposing of waste in designated bins.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors, maintaining a professional and respectful approach.
  • Adhere to shift schedules and arrive on time.
  • Inspect completed work for defects, ensuring corrective action is taken before handover.
  • Maintain accurate coating records for quality control documentation.
  • Handle all equipment and materials with care to avoid contamination or damage.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety

  • Perform any additional duties as directed by management.

Here is what you bring to us:

Essential:

  • Proven experience painting structural steel using single- and two-pack epoxies.
  • Skilled in operating airless spray equipment and using WFT gauges for film thickness measurement.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, including abrasive blasting.
  • Experience in handling and operating overhead cranes safely.
  • Strong attention to detail to achieve consistent coating quality.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions precisely.
  • Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking).

Preferred:

  • Experience applying water-borne intumescent fire-retardant coatings.
  • Current Driver's License.
  • Forklift License.
  • First Aid Certificate.

Mandatory Licenses:

  • Dogman License.
  • Overhead Gantry Crane License.
