• Part time (0.6 FTE) Fixed Term position until April 2026
• Salary range $95,801 to $104,422 pro rata, plus 11.5% superannuation
• Primarily based at Manningham Civic Centre, Doncaster

About the role

Have you got a passion for crafting and sharing compelling stories? Great at making complex ideas simple and easy for audiences to understand?

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative individual with excellent writing and time management skills to join our Engaged Communities team and help share our community's voice.

This role is responsible for writing, editing and delivering our bi-monthly community magazine, Manningham Matters. The role will also prepare messages for key Council spokespeople on a range of important topics and issues in Manningham.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, while developing and testing new ideas within a culture of learning to deliver excellent outcomes for Manningham.

Seeking out stories, writing and production managing Manningham Mattersis a key focus of this role.

The role works closely with our in-house graphic designer, and internal and external stakeholders, to prepare content for the community magazine and a range of other channels on a wide variety of local news topics.

Skills and experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations.
• Demonstrated experience and ability in preparing effective written communications for a broad range of stakeholders.
• Track record in managing publications – delivering on deadline and achieving the desired outcomes.
• Ability to liaise with and collaborate effectively with all levels of management, staff and stakeholders (internal and external) and to solve specialist problems.
