Your opportunity:
The role of the Staff Specialist/Senior Medical Officer is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to directly or indirectly benefit the patients/clients of Integrated Care Services, including the ED Avoidance model (known as STREAM) and/or Hospital in the Home (HITH) Service within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
In addition to the key responsibilities listed below, the role of the Senior Medical Officer is to provide such services as may be reasonably directed from time to time by the Professional or Operational Manager.
Whilst this position is Permanent Part Time (60 hours p.f.), the successful applicant may be required to work Temporary Full Time (80 hours p.f.) for the first 12 months with the possibility of extension.
Opportunity for Private Practice:
The successful candidate may have the opportunity to establish private practice outside of their WBHHS appointment with local private hospitals. The successful candidate may receive assistance and concessions with:
Use of the local private hospital's sessional rooms to allow establishment of practice and referral pathways
Assistance with credentialling and administrative support to commence private practice
Introduction to local GP's, physicians and surgeons to facilitate referral pathways.
