About the Role

Joining the team as the
Manager Fleet
your primary focus will be to manage a diverse and skilled workforce including the planning/maintenance management function of our Heavy & Marine fleets and the delivery of services through our light fleet department, which also includes planning/management).

function is integral to our community, and you will use your substantial managerial experience and your technical expertise, to lead and instruct assorted trade disciplines, business partners and contractors. Your leadership will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of projects, maintenance and modifications by FRV's fleet operations teams.

Being an experienced people manager, you lead by example and implement a continuous improvement and safety first culture. You direct and encourage professionalism and your focus will be to provide a skilled team with strategic leadership.

Your team includes a heavy fleet planning function, marine planning function, administration functions and light fleet services.

As part of risk minimisation and compliance goals, you will anticipate potential issues or opportunities and provide guidance and authoritative advice to the organisation to influence decisions that drive performance and deliver departmental objectives.

About You

You are technically skilled and experienced in developing and facilitating maintenance programs for heavy fleet (trucks/vans/specialist equipment) and have broad experience dealing with the challenges of managing geographically dispersed light vehicle fleets.

Any direct hands-on experience and trade qualifications are also highly regarded. You are an effective people and process manager who is good at negotiating, you listen intently and problem solves
before
a problem arises.

Having developed professional confidence in a busy career has taught you well. Naturally assertive, you readily address difficult conversations and are experienced enough to represent on behalf of your team and the organisation. You lead by example and foster good performance to create a resilient and resourceful team.

What we need from you:

  • Certificate IV in Planning or Business Management or relevant discipline
  • Trade Qualifications (Certificate III minimum) desirable
  • SAP advanced user training
