About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Health Information Officer to join our team on a casual basis. Reporting to the Health Information Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate and timely medical records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile medical records for discharged patients.
  • Retrieve and prepare records for admissions, inpatients, quality audits, and clinical needs.
  • Respond to internal and external information requests in line with privacy policies.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data security at all times.
  • Follow up on outstanding documentation (e.g., discharge summaries, pathology reports).
  • Monitor and maintain clinical forms, registers, and archives.
  • Scan and file documentation efficiently.
  • Assist with documentation audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Desirable

  • Experience in medical records or healthcare clerical roles.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and data integrity.
  • High-level computer literacy and confidence with digital records systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
